Hey all! i've been to taiwan for 10 days over the past two weeks of december. It's my second time visiting taiwan and my first time was way back, five years ago. time flies doesn't it? I've been looking forward to this day since idk when, and so quickly, it's over. But, i must say, the trip was fun, making new friends. Of course excluding the one day that i fell really ill. I'll elaborate when the pictures are up. For now, here's the pictures for day 1-3.
woke up at 430am to prepare to leave. i love waking up early in the morning just to go to the airport. Uncle gave us a lift to the airport.
There we are, checking our luggages in.
Had BK for breakfast. Airplane food never ever suit my taste. so yup.
We had to transfer flight in hk, so we took two planes.
Food onboard. On the bread and bacon was nice. the rest, nah.
The shadow of our plane. I thought it was a good shot. hehe
Arrival in Taiwan after 6 hours.
My #ootd.
Fox sweater, denim shorts, brown leggings and studded black boots.
Journey from the airport to our hotel took about 2 hrs. So by the time we arrived, it was time for dinner.
super satisfied with the room.
and it's dinner time. food was good and expensive. -_-
The pathetic piece of slice fish that cost close $50. Dahell.
Dinner settled around seven, close to eight. So, we walked around the hotel and did some window shopping. Everything in malls were expensive.
Shop marts were everywhere in taiwan, like you can easily fine 7-11, family mart around. They are super environmentally-friendly. paper bags are FOC, plastics need $$.
DAY 2
#ootd, baseball jacket, pink scarf, denim shorts, black leggings, studded boots, black mini bag,
Sis's attempt.
my attempt. :)
Breakfast that morning. meh.
Ham's tasteless, fish is too salty, only the bread is acceptable, but we forgot to toast it, so it was pretty hard.
done with breakkie, ready for shopping.
Everyway is so convenient. You can never starve in tw.
Their 'standard ticket' in coin form.
First stop: TAIPEI ZOO.
Considered to be one of asia's largest zoo
We get too pose-y sometimes. hahaha.
Entrance fee was unbelievably cheap. Adults fare are 60 taiwan dollars which cost around S$3. I pay close to $20 in sg to look at animals. T-T
We want to be flamingoes too.
Look at this cutie!!!! She's looking into my camera.
impossible to tavel around the park on foot, so we paid extra $5 (taiwan dollars) for pram ride. seriously, a few cents in sg.
Spot them.
Best shot ever of a python.
Then cousin and i got more interested in the figurines.
Hang on, maybe we wanna be elephants instead. hmmmmm.
Hokkaido cakes in taipei. Taste exactly like the ones they are selling n polar, just a lot cheaper.
People tap their cards, we tap the coins.
Lunch at Din Tai Feng. Taiwan trip is never complete if you don't try their dtf. Although waiting time is enough to kill.
The ultra cute fish cakes that they have in their super marts.
Oh yeah baby, the food was soooo good, all worth the close to 2hrs wait.
Headed back to the hotel for an hour break then we came out for shopping around 530pm. Best time ever because it was their peak hours, so the crowd was scary. like really, it's way worst then peak hour in city hall/ bugis mrt platforms.
Arrival at XiMenDing. Look at the sky, it's only 630 by the time we were there and the sky was like 9pm in sg.
Cousin in the queue for food. Took 40mins.
There! Worth the wait i guess, afterall, i'm not the one queueing. :p
Had jap-taiwan cuisine.
DAY 3
My #ootd:
White hoodie, pink scarf, denim shorts, maroon leggings, boots.
Breakfast was better because they were serving bacon!!!
Adults asking their way around taipei, while waiting, we kill our own boredom.
Want some attention, do this in the train. We were receiving so many stares, but who cares, we are tourists.
First stop: Temple.
playing with the ticketing machine.
butter and milk bread. not that bad, unique taste.
Tea-break at bean curd stall.
The breathe-taking scenery. Just a pity, it was raining and the wind was so strong so we didn't get a chance to view it up close.
Mister donut.
Lunch!
One of the best lunch in Taipei.
Wufenpu (?!) shopping there were a lot better compared to XMD. Items were cheaper because they are the whole sellers i guess. You can get a good-material hoodie for $7. Pity, they don't sell t-shirts at low prices and it's quite impossible to be wearing thick hoodie in spore with our suffering from heat-stroke. Ok, maybe if you wear it on rainy days. :)
Satisfied. So many shopping bags.
Dinner at the same restaurant again
brought in our own dessert, cranberry cheesecake. (Y)
Ok, look out for the other days in taiwan too! more pictures to be up, i'll be done with these first. :)
